Dan Koukol, CEO & Co-FounderIts platform unifies essential processes, including production, inventory, order tracking, procurement and shipping, into one intuitive interface to deliver real-time visibility, automation and collaboration. Unlike traditional ERP systems, which are slow to deploy, costly to maintain and often rigid, Digit is built for speed, flexibility and affordability, helping manufacturers go live in days.
“We built Digit to be the all-in-one system—powerful enough to handle the complexity of manufacturing, but simple enough for anyone on the shop floor to use without training,” says Dan Koukol, CEO and co-founder.
For years, manufacturers have patched together spreadsheets and siloed tools, making it hard to plan ahead, spot issues early or improve efficiency. Digit’s founders knew this problem well because they had lived it.
Koukol spent nearly a decade working closely with manufacturers across the U.S. as a consultant, helping untangle bottlenecks and improve operational performance. Driven by a passion for hands-on problem-solving, he joined a struggling injection molding manufacturing business as the CEO and turned it profitable. In both roles, it became clear that no modern software tools were truly built for the realities of the factory floor.
In 2021, Koukol and his co-founders launched Digit with a simple but ambitious idea: to build the system they always wished existed—a modern operating system for manufacturing, built by manufacturers, not just engineers.
Digit offers an end-to-end solution focused on modules such as sales & demand, procurement, production, and shipping & fulfillment.
Once demand is clear, Digit streamlines procurement, handling everything from purchase order planning to goods receipt. Features like unit-of-measure conversions, serialized labeling, and quarantine tagging ensure accuracy, traceability and quality control at every step.
In production, Digit supports simple and complex workflows. It enables stakeholders to verify materials, sequence jobs based on urgency and provide complete visibility into real-time status.
Shipping and fulfillment are just as streamlined, with intuitive tools for picking, packing, palletizing, shipping, and customizable labels and documentation workflows.
Recognizing that Excel is still the backbone of many operations, Digit mirrors the flexibility users value, like custom fields and rapid data entry, while solving the critical limitations of spreadsheets. It brings structure without sacrificing speed.
Digit has delivered measurable impact across a wide range of manufacturing use cases. One manufacturer, shortly after adopting Digit, faced a critical audit from a major client known for setting exceptionally high standards during initial inspections. Thanks to Digit’s serialized inventory and audit-ready workflows, the company passed with flying colors, leading to a renewed contract and significantly expanded business with the client.
Another customer, a plastic injection molding company in Georgia, had long struggled with raw material visibility and on-time shipping performance. After switching to Digit, they improved inventory tracking, eliminated shipping errors, and negotiated better supplier pricing, resulting in significant cost savings and improved performance.
Built for Today’s Factory, Ready for Tomorrow’s
Digit is redefining what manufacturers expect from their software. With transparent pricing, no long-term contracts, and a fast implementation process, the typical risks of adopting enterprise systems are removed.
Under the hood, Digit runs on a secure, modern cloud architecture powered by Amazon Web Services, offering the scalability and reliability that today’s factories demand. But performance alone isn’t enough. Its clean, intuitive interface replaces the clutter of legacy systems, helping teams make better decisions without the burden of complexity or constant training.
Digit doesn’t stop at software. It’s already bridging the gap between digital and physical operations with factory-floor hardware like barcode scanners, tablets and label printers. With plans to expand connectivity to PLCs, IoT devices, and Industry 4.0 infrastructure, it’s ready to support the next generation of manufacturing.
Digit Technologies is leading a long-overdue shift in manufacturing software with tools built for the factory floor. It’s not just an upgrade; it’s the future of how manufacturers will operate.
