David Reger, CEOAt its core, NEURA Robotics wants to help companies handle the rising global demand, for which they necessitate individualized solutions requiring increasingly complex production processes. “Until now, the cognitive abilities and experiences of humans are the integral component of those processes,” states Reger. However, global megatrends like the silver society will strain the ability to meet those demands in the near future. For several decades industrial robots have proven to be a general-purpose tool that plays an important role in dealing with the rising complexity. But there is still a big gap in the field of human-machine interactions, which prevents merging the benefits of both worlds. NEURA Robotics has the goal of bridging this gap and enhancing robots’ cognitive abilities by making groundbreaking leaps in the fields of environment perception, drive technologies, control theory, material science, mechanical design, and artificial intelligence. “By giving the robot what is currently missing: a sense and a mind, we aren’t just aiming to revolutionize modern production sites but also conquer new markets like medicine technologies, home automation, and food production,” mentions Reger.
To fulfil its mission, NEURA Robotics has introduced three new products: the collaborative lightweight robot LARA, the autonomous mobile robot MAV, and the cognitive cobot MAiRA.
“Our products are just the beginning of the new era of robotic assistants, building the foundation for future applications of robots where we currently don’t see wide adoption while having a huge potential yet,” states Reger. LARA or Lightweight Agile Robotic Assistant is a low-cost cobot which is providing higher performance than other cobots in the market. It is the perfect entry product for companies that want to introduce automation into their production sites. Secondly, MAV (Mobile Autonomous Vehicle) is an AMR that solves the intra logistic problems of customers from various industries. It can autonomously navigate in any in-door environment and transport goods with a weight of up to 1.5 tons.![]()
We want to enable people to express their creativity and focus more on social interactions instead of doing unhealthy and monotonous jobs, which are still very common among the general society
Lastly, MAiRA or Multi-Sensing Intelligent Robotic Assistant is the first commercially available cognitive robot. With fully integrated novel sensors and unprecedented integration of artificial intelligence in control systems and applications, MAiRA is leading a new era of robots. The robust and rigid design combines the performance of a high-end machine with easy programming and infinite possibilities for interaction – both for beginners and experts. With the integrated touchless safe human detection sensor MAiRA tears down the boundaries between humans and machines and brings them closer together for good.
In its product portfolio, NEURA Robotics has a combination of MAV with a shelf, vertical axis, and MAiRA mounted on top. This mobile manipulator enables a whole new range of applications that no other products in the market are offering with the same technical depth. With all the senses and AI, this mobile robot can recognize its surroundings and detect and distinguish humans from other objects. Therefore, it can autonomously connect warehouses and productions in a unique way and help to enhance the overall production. Currently, NEURA Robotics has partnerships with bigger companies that value its achievements in accuracy and repeatability, as well as the advanced perception capabilities and augmented intelligence that they have included in MAiRA. “This is only the first step; imagine a modified version of this helping us as personal assistants in our households,” informs Reger.
