As an enthusiast in engine technology and machine construction, Flemming Kleemann had a penchant for creating high-quality components that would stand the test of time. In the late 80s, Flemming Kleemann successfully developed complete compressor systems for four, six, and eight cylinder Mercedes car engines with the goal to increase the standard power significantly in a cost-effective and technically very safe way. Later, Kleemann shifted focus from Mercedes to Harley Davidson motorcycles to develop a compressor for their V-Rod motorcycles.

To build these compressors, Kleemann needed several complex components, which could only be created using high-end CNC machines. Although the machines were available, since the order quantity was relatively less, he was unable to approach the traditional CNC machining service providers, which only specialised in large-scale orders. That was when he decided to buy the required CNC machines for turning and milling, and set up his own workshop, where he could produce the sophisticated components needed for the motorcycle compressors.

Alongside the success of the V-Rod project, Kleemann experienced massive interest from many other clients, who approached him with their small-scale and specialised component requirements.
